The short version
- Ask within 14 calendar days of a purchase and we refund it in full, for any reason.
- It covers all three plans — monthly, yearly and the lifetime licence.
- One email to [email protected] is the whole process.
- Paddle returns the money to the card or account you paid with.
- Recordings you already made are ordinary files you own, and they stay yours.
A summary is not the agreement. The sections below are what you are agreeing to.
The guarantee
If ReScreen is not what you needed, write to us within 14 calendar days of the charge and we refund it in full.
You do not have to justify it. "It did not fit how I work" is a complete answer, and it is more useful to us than a polite one.
The guarantee covers the monthly plan, the yearly plan and the lifetime licence alike. There is no reduced refund, no fee, and no difference between the cheapest plan and the most expensive.
If a renewal caught you out
A subscription renews on its own until it is cancelled, and occasionally that lands at a moment you were not expecting.
Write within 14 calendar days of a renewal charge and we will refund it and cancel the plan, provided the new period is essentially unused. We would rather do that than keep money from someone who has moved on.
How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address on the account, and tell us:
- which plan you bought,
- roughly when, or the order reference from your Paddle receipt, and
- optionally, what went wrong.
That last one is optional and it is the part we actually read. A refund request that names a missing feature or a Mac the app misbehaved on is worth more to us than the payment was.
How long it takes
We approve refunds as we see them — usually the same working day, and always within three.
The money itself is returned by Paddle, the merchant of record, to the card or account you paid with. Once Paddle has issued it, how quickly it lands is up to your bank: five to ten working days is typical, and a card statement sometimes shows it against the original transaction rather than as a new line.
What happens to your access
When a refund is issued, access to recording stops. That is the trade: you have the money back, so the licence ends.
What you already made is unaffected. Your recordings are ordinary MP4 and MOV files in a folder you own — they do not stop playing, they do not acquire a watermark, and they do not need ReScreen to open them. Nothing is deleted from your Mac, and nothing was ever held on ours.
Cancelling is not the same as a refund
Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves you with the rest of the period you have already paid for. Nothing is returned, because nothing is taken.
A refund returns the payment and ends access straight away. If you are not sure which one you want, say so in the email and we will explain both.
The few things we do not refund
- Purchases outside the 14-day window, unless the law where you live says otherwise, or something on our side went wrong — in which case write to us anyway.
- Repeated refund-and-repurchase cycles on the same account.
- Payments obtained fraudulently, or accounts suspended for breaching the Terms of Service.
If you are refused, we will tell you why in plain words rather than quoting this paragraph back at you.
Please ask us before your bank
A chargeback takes weeks, costs everyone a fee, and usually ends with the account suspended while it is investigated. An email is faster than a dispute form, and it has never once failed to get someone their money back.
Your statutory rights
This guarantee sits on top of the rights you already have, and it never replaces them.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase of digital content within 14 calendar days, subject to the usual conditions about downloading it. Consumers elsewhere have whatever rights their own law gives them for software sold this way. Nothing here limits any of it.
Paddle is the merchant of record for your purchase, so its buyer terms apply to the transaction alongside this policy.
