Everything the screen recorder does, and why each part exists

The problem

Your viewer is squinting. The button you just clicked is forty pixels wide on a 4K display, and the only fix anyone knows is an hour of keyframing a scale value that never quite lands on the right frame.

The problem

The recorder you already have gives you a whole screen with your notifications in it, or a region you cannot resize once the countdown has started. Then something stalls, and forty minutes of work opens as a file nothing will play.

The problem

One flattened audio track means the notification ping lands on top of the sentence that mattered, your voice is quieter than the app you are demonstrating, and the only repair anyone can offer is to record the whole thing again.

The take is fine except for the eleven seconds where you hunted for the right tab. Fixing that today means finding a video editor, waiting through an import, and re-encoding a file you only wanted to cut.

A raw capture is a rectangle of somebody else’s user interface, edge to edge, with nothing of you in it. Next to a competitor’s polished clip it reads as a screenshot that happens to move.

You stop recording and what you have is not a file yet. It is a project, in a format nothing opens, waiting on an export you will run twice because the first one had the wrong aspect ratio.

The problem

Screen recordings are the most sensitive video you make: customer data, internal dashboards, an inbox you forgot was open. Most recorders answer that by putting the file in somebody else’s bucket and handing you a link.
