Can I get a vertical clip out of a landscape recording?
Yes. The vertical social presets fill a portrait canvas and use the recorded interaction metadata to decide what stays in frame, keeping the crop within the source bounds.
Where does an imported background live?
Inside the project folder, alongside the media and metadata, so moving or duplicating the project keeps the background with it.
